The normal (as far as I know) black nickel saxophone finish is an extremely thin layer of actual plating, probably the thinnest of all platings used in sax finishes. The marketplace is meant for members who actively participate in the forum. Also, you'll increase the pool of people willing to deal with you if you participate more. I got it back and now I have a new problem. Before I've never used to have a sticky G# or C# key, (left pinky G#, and low C#) but now, everytime I take it out of the case, I need to "unstick" it with a bill or something or else ...The AWO1 is a really free blower, and easier to play overall. The tone is a more focused and intonation is spot-on with minimal adjustment on my end. My wife commented that I look much more comfortable playing the AWO1. Finish on the AWO1 is excellent overall. Dr G. The smallest change in the bore/ inner diameter/ wall thickness of a bow or neck can make a HUGE difference in how a sax sounds. Play two saxophones (well set up) from the late 1930's and make some notes on what you felt behind the horn. Then rebuild both horns with fresh resonator pads, and make more notes.. Xhumsatr

From a strictly tonal point of view, alto sax is closer to trumpet than tenor sax. From a playing point of view, tenor sax is the most flexible.
