My 2008 Rancher quit shifting so I took it to my dealer last fall. It had stripped some teeth off of the shift modulator and also had some water in it. He replaced the damaged parts but can't get it to shift electrically. It will shift with the manual gear changer so everything is fine mechanically.Remove the shift motor and gears (very simple to do). Remove all the factory stiff, gummy grease that was put in the shift gears. Now, replace all that grease with a liberal amount of ALL-temperature, White Lithium Grease.
