I'm hoping to get some insight to this character idea i have. I wanna make a character who is a werewolf who became a magical detective and monster hunter, who is very intelligence and skilled in magic. So i wanted to see what people think of a starting only with 3 levels of Lycan blood hunter and going the rest of the way bladesinging wizard. Probably the third strongest magic item you can get (after Staff of the Magi and Tome of the Stilled Tongue). Use a Shadow Blade in your main hand, staff off-hand as your focus. You get a free +2 to AC/Saving Throws and spell attack rolls and a shitton of extra spells per day. Take this thing.

D&D 5e. I was reading some of the new bladesinger stuff and thought it would be cool to build a strength bladesinger. The downside is you cant wear medium or heavy armor so you still need good dex. That is unless you are a Tortle. The bladesinger adding int to AC should work with the Tortles base 17 AC. I have selected all tabs in character preferences that allow homebrew, playtest and critical role content. I have selected a High Elf as a race and Wizard as a class. I believe that the tashas changes are retroactive. Like the changes t GFB and BB over-wrote the old changes. I have both the scag and tashas, but I only have the tasha's version of the spells (not entirely true, I saved the originals as homebrew before they were changed). Spells I was considering taking were for making myself a type of battle mage with the ability to also cast long range spells. I like the features of the bladesinging class, buy I might actually consider doing an Eldritch knight fighter because they seem very similar.
