The factory Knight plugs should be wearing the slightly longer Winchester 209 primer with Blackhorn powder. They allow much eaiser removal than CCI-M or Federal 209A, which when fired, both stick to my factory plug. A.The FPJ uses 209 primers, western uses #11 caps. They both work just fine. I use #11's in all my knight plunger guns. In the plunger guns, I wouldn't recommend using BH209 powder, just stick to real black, pyrodex, or 777. If you go with a Mountaineer, you should request the Non Full Plastic Jacket (NFPJ) breechplug setup. It uses bare 209 primers.The second shot delivered a chunk of the 209 primer into my forehead. With a mirror and a thumbnail I was able to dig it out. And that was the last BlackHorn I ever shot out of a plunger style rifle. I still shoot BlackHorn 209 out of my Genesis and my Knight Disc with excellent results.. now that I went to a very hot primer..
